Which Dante devices support Signal Presence indications in Director & Controller?
For many Dante devices, you can tell if there is an audible signal level present on a channel by viewing the indicator in Dante Controller or Dante Director. Signal Presence means there is actual audio content (an audio level above a threshold considered to be the level of silence). You are also able to query this state using the Dante Managed API.
Signal presence indication in Dante Director is supported in many Dante devices. Support varies depending upon the underlying technology, and whether the firmware has been updated.
All versions of AVIO and devices based on Ultimo are supported however Dante devices based on the Brooklyn or IPCore technology require a firmware update.
See the chart below for minimum supported firmware for compatibility. If your device still does not show signal presence, check with your device manufacturer to ensure that they have adopted the newest firmware available from Audinate.
