How can I return my device to unmanaged mode?
If you unassign a device from any site in Dante Director, it will return to unmanaged mode and can be used without Dante Director.
If a device is still enrolled in a Dante Director site, but you have lost access to the Dante Director account for any reason (e.g. the account belongs to someone else; the device cannot be connected to the Internet), you need to clear its domain credentials before it can be deployed elsewhere. This can be done using Dante Controller:
- Isolate the device from the rest of the Dante network
- i.e. plug directly into your computer or plug into a switch with just your computer and the device or put in an isolated VLAN
- Disconnect and reconnect the device
- When the device appears double click on it to open the Device View window
- From the Device menu, select Clear Domain Credentials
- In the popup window, click the Clear Config button
- Power cycle the device
